Editorial policy

How I write and publish the posts on this site, including where I use AI, how I check facts and how I handle affiliate links and corrections.

This policy covers posts published from October 2026.

How AI is used

I use AI tools to draft some posts, suggest code and tidy language. I don’t publish an AI draft as it comes. I read, edit and approve every post before it goes live. AI does not supply my experience, numbers or opinions: if a post says I tested or saw something, I did.

The 42 posts published before October 2026 were written before this policy, so they may not meet every standard on this page, including the labels. I’m reviewing them one by one: each reviewed post gets an updated date and, where it applies, a label.

What I check by hand

I run the code in tutorials and snippets, and I note the versions I used. I check prices, versions, plugin status and statistics against the source, and I date them. Anything I can’t verify, I cut. I don’t invent examples, case studies, quotes or results, and I don’t name clients without their permission.

Labels

Each new post written with AI help says how I used it. A post written without AI carries no label. AI-generated images are labelled. Here is the line a post carries:

Affiliate links

Some posts contain affiliate links. They are marked at the top of the post and in the link code. They don’t change what I recommend. I only link to tools I have used or researched, and the post says which. Here is the line a post carries:

This post contains affiliate links. I may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you.

Corrections

If you find an error, email contact@dhirenpatel.me. I check reports within 3 working days. If a correction is substantive, I note it on the post with a date.

Updates

Dated posts carry a “last verified” date. When a post goes out of date, I update it, mark it as historical or retire it. I change a post’s updated date only when its content changes in a meaningful way, and I say what changed.
